Program Description

MindSync for Windows version 2.00a

MindSync is a tool for generating sound files that can place the listener into any desired state of mind. It is required that these files be listened to with stereo headphones, and that your sound board be able to play stereo files. this program is also full featured wave editor, but that's beside the point. And lastly, it was written by me - David Johnston - so please read on!

Some info about the program that I have sent when emailing the archive

Okay folks here is the program, it is a UUENCODED ZIP file. If you have any problems decoding it let me know, and I'll resend it with a different encoding method. The file name is Winsyn.zip (131,142 bytes). I have scanned it with Norton Anti-virus for Win95 with Aug 08/96 sigantures and it checks out clean BUT scan it again yourself when you get it. I disavow any responsibility if it is infected when you get it. (going through the net anyone along the way can tamper with it if they so choose, but I know the file is clean when it leaves my computer, but between here and my computer who knows?) So.. I say this again SCAN THE FILE BEFORE USING IT!!! Now you may think I am harping on this. I have never had any troubles with virus's, because I am scroupulously careful with my system, but I know a few people who have had their systems wrecked by viruses that they got off the 'net' If you are using netscape navigator 2 or higher they have an addon called Power Pack that includes a scanner that will check email and other stuff you get off the net. Check it out if you aren't already using a virus scanner. McCaffee's Vshield is also supposed to be good along with the top rated F-PROT Professional.

Now, with all the serious stuff out of the way, here are some suggestions for using the program (read the help file, it explains exactly what you need to do to use the MindSync effectively), and this is how I use it most of the time.

How do I use the program, well usually I'll start out with in the beta frequencies (12 hz + if memory serves me right) and work my way slowly (over about a half hour period to theta or delta frequencies (down to about 1 or 2 hz). I also find layering a couple of frequncies works well, for example I have 100 hz in 1 ear an 103 in another, then I also have a second waveform with say 500hz in 1 ear and 530 in the other. I mix the two waveforms together to get a setup with a 3hz and 30hz tone. This gives theta and beta which = good for learning and trance work, AND keeps you alert at the same time.
